Mindfulness for Everyday Life

Modern day life is becoming more stressful with ever increasing demands upon our time, the high expectations we place upon ourselves, juggling multiple roles; parenting, work and relationships. It is no wonder that more of us are suffering from the effects of living in today’s society. Stress, worry, depression, poor health, anxiety and burnout are just some of the common problems we can suffer with.

Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one's attention to the internal and external experiences occurring in the present moment, which can be developed through the practice of meditation and other training. When you're mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them as good or bad.

Many of us spend a lot of our time focused either on the past or on the future, paying very little attention to what is happening in the present, which means that for most of the time we may be unaware of our experience. When we truly teach ourselves to appreciate what is going on around us, we find that life becomes happier, calmer and more fulfilling.

As a Clinical Psychologist with many years of experience of working in mental health services with individuals suffering from a range of emotional and psychological difficulties I have developed a special interest in mindfulness and mindfulness based psychological therapies. I have also experienced first-hand how mindfulness has helped me to manage everyday life stress and achieve a greater sense of overall well-being.

I run a mindfulness and mediation course at the Solihull Well-Being Clinic on a regular basis. Sessions are run over a period of six weeks and take place in an informal and relaxed group atmosphere. Sessions incorporate a mixture of teaching and practical mindfulness exercises with a focus on how to incorporate mindfulness techniques in to your everyday life.

  • Week One: Introduction to Mindfulness

  • Week Two: Awaken your senses

  • Week Three: Mindfulness of thoughts

  • Week Four: Mindfulness of emotions

  • Week Five: Mindfulness of relationships

  • Week Six: Mindfulness for everyday living

Costing only £85.00 for the 6-week course, I include a mindfulness and meditation pack for you to practice between sessions. To book your place please call 0121 777 1675 or alternatively you can email info@solihullwelbeingclinic.com
