We live at a fast pace and we often don't make room for ourselves to adapt and integrate the changes in our lives. We often generate emotions, which we don't always have a chance to release. Unreleased or suppressed emotions eventually can cause stress, a sense of feeling out of sorts and in some cases dis-ease in the physical and mental body.
Reiki can help to support us in our day to day life giving the opportunity for us to relax, let go of stress, anxiety and worry and strengthen our own self-esteem and personal power. Reiki encourages and supports positive personal choices such as improving diet, taking more exercise, devoting time for rest or leisure activities and reduce the need for tobacco and alcohol.
There are various forms of Reiki, but I find the following most useful in my practice:
Usui Reiki- which is the traditional Reiki healing method which originated in Japan in the late 1800s.
Angelic Reiki- this is a more modern method of reiki which taps into the energy of healing beings such as Archangels and Ascended Masters. You do not need to believe in these beings or hold religious believes to benefit from this treatment but the more open you are to these energies, the more beneficial it will be.
Reiki treatment is non-manipulative, with no pressure applied and no need to remove clothing. It can be given sitting in a comfortable chair or lying down. Reiki is given by the placing of hands gently on your shoulders (for Angelic Reiki) or on/over parts of the body where the Chakras are located (Usui Reiki). Sessions take approximately 45 to 50 minutes. The first session is usually shorter due to the initial time spent in consultation with the client prior to starting the treatment.
