EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

I am a qualified integrative counsellor with experience of offering emotional support as a bereavement counsellor in a hospice setting and experience offering carer support working with the Carers Trust Solihull. I have over 15 years’ experience in the health and social care sector working as a carer myself, up to being a Care Home Manager and now working as a Registered Nurse (RN).

 

I currently work in the private health care sector supporting clients with mental health illness and physical disabilities. My experience helps me to understand the emotional pressures of work life, family life, illness, loss, and attachments. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques to suit your needs, as I feel one approach does not fit with everyone. Whilst adapting different approaches to suit you and your needs I lean towards a person-centred approach meaning you are at the centre of everything I do. I will empower you to be your true self and can support you using CBT techniques.

 

I provide a safe, honest, and empathic space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours without judgement. You can come and talk to me about anything that is making life difficult for you, I am here to listen, help you offload and clarify you thinking. I can support you to find strength within your situation to cope with day-to-day life. I will enable you to feel seen,
heard, and safe.

 

I specialise in grief work, adapting to loss and anticipatory grief. Loss can cover a variety of situations from loss of a job, loss of health, loss of income or loss of a pet, to name a few. I also offer carer support, particularly dementia support, support with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and support with changes of the aging process.
 

Qualifications

Level 2 and 3 Diploma’s in Counselling Skills

Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Bereavement Counselling Training

Level 5 Diploma in CBT due to qualify November 2023

I offer face to face counselling with my price being £25 per hour.
